What Is Classic Newborn Photography?


Classic newborn photography is the style you’ll often see in studios — the baby is carefully posed, sometimes with props like baskets, blankets, or little themed outfits. The photographer typically works with a controlled lighting setup and spends a lot of time positioning the baby into curled or wrapped poses.


These sessions usually take place within the first two weeks after birth, when babies are sleepiest and easier to pose. The images can be very polished and styled, but they often have less focus on family connection and more on the baby as a “portrait subject.”

What Is Lifestyle Newborn Photography?


Lifestyle newborn photography is the opposite — it’s all about real moments, natural light, and genuine connection. Instead of posing your baby in a basket, I capture your newborn in your arms, snuggled on your bed, or held close while you sway in the living room.


It’s not about creating a set — it’s about telling the story of your life right now: the way you look at your baby, the way their tiny hand wraps around your finger, the way your home feels in those early weeks.


And because these images are about connection over perfection, they work beautifully at any age — not just in the first two weeks.
